It’s the week of the Hoard! Everybody gets an extra 100% loot bonus and a 50% Fate/XP bonus from Intels! Intels are already worth running, so this week is the best of the weeks to farm a ridiculous amount of items. The drops are just comical when you kill a tier 3 boss and open up all 5 void plunder chests. Today I’m going to try something new, I’m going to run one stack of intels for each insignia, and compare their loot. I’m certain that Tier 3 is going to be by far the best, but I’m really curious to see exactly how much better it is than tier 2, and the differences between tier 1 and 2.
A few things to note before I get started:
– Same Tarot Card combo every mission, A level 3 “The Treasure Trove“, a level 3 “Momentum” and whatever Insignia. I want to get as much loot duplication chance as possible for testing purposes.
– Better items drop on high difficulty missions, and I’m only adding 2 levels. Intels have a 20% chance to increase their base level up to 3, a chance to add up to 5 difficulty & loot modifiers, so that might cause some variance.
– Pirate Spoil Troves spawn often with insignias, up to 5 on tier 3. This is a huge part of the loot, but I won’t always have keys to open them. I’ll open whatever I can, but there would be much more loot if I had hundreds of keys saved up for this moment.
Void Brethren Insignia Tier 1
Tier 1 Insignias don’t look very promising. The Compendium says they are “Basic Seasonal missions, each having a 50% chance of spawning a Pirate Spoil Trove”. Seeing how they are just basic randomly spawned missions, it’s almost like I’m just running a normal intel that gives me a bounty buff. Let’s see if the loot is as bad as I expect it to be.

This data goes to show how random loot can be in this game. The missions where I got a massive amount of relics were mostly opening pirate spoil troves and getting really lucky with the duplication chance. The intels were mostly from Contraband Servoskulls surprisingly, they drop a ton.
Void Brethren Insignia Tier 2
Tier 2 missions have 3 locked chests scattered around the map. I expect to see a lot of variance in between missions based on whether or not I have keys to open these chests, since they give a ton of loot.
Of course, Tier 2 missions resulted in over double loot than tier 1s. I don’t believe this is solely because of the extra locked chests, although they helped. Most of the tier 2 missions are hunts or assassinations that guarantee 3 elite kills, and there are several pirate commanders scattered around, all with decent loot drops. The massive increase in Tarot cards is definitely from the locked chests.
Tier 2 insignias have a 15% chance to give you a Tier 3 mission with the boss and everything (counted differently for this data), so if you’re planning on doing some farming of your own, spamming tier 2s is definitely your best option.
Also that last mission gave me 21 intels because there were 2 Contraband Servo-skulls and a season shrine to spawn a third. I had no idea they dropped so many intels before I started recording this data. Let’s see is tier 3 missions have similar intel rates.
Void Brethren Insignia Tier 3
Tier 3 missions have the Soul Grinder boss and 5 locked chests around the map. I once again expect to see a lot of variance because of those chests, but I also expect the baseline loot to be amazing since the Soul Grinder boss is a giant loot piñata and has a chance to drop a key to open the chests.
The giant increase in Archeotech and normal relics come from the boss who seems to always drop at least 5, up to ridiculous amounts that will fill your screen. He also has a really high chance of dropping seasonal archeotech relics. The tarot card increase was thanks to all of the chests I was able to open, they seem to be amazing for tarot cards. Once again most of the intels were from servoskulls, the missions where I didn’t get any were usually ones where I didn’t see a servoskull.
Red and Yellow Psalm codes seem to be the rarest thing by far in this small data pool of 30 missions. I only got 1 form tier 1 missions, and 2 from tier 2. I got a total of 17 from tier 3 missions, which was awesome, but throughout this whole thing I only remember seeing a total of 2 red psalms, most of them were yellow.
